Let me tell you about a few things that are important to me.
Community:
Community starts in our homes, and in our families. It then expands to include
our neighbors, our neighbors' neighbors, our city ... and beyond.
It includes our churches and other places of worship, our schools, scouts, and
youth athletics. It includes our senior citizens who have chosen to retire in our
great city. It includes businesses and business leaders, and our Veterans who
left their families, friends, and neighbors to serve in defense of our
freedom.
Our community does not stop at the Keller city limits. Our community includes
the 6 cities that share our borders and the cities that share borders with the
cities WE share borders with.
I am committed to Community!
Integrity:
Integrity has always been a cornerstone in my life. After high school I went
to the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado, where integrity was a way
of life -- not just another word. The Academy's Honor Code becomes inbred in
all her graduates. Integrity is a part of leadership and command. I lived integrity for seven years as an officer and pilot in the USAF, and I live that same integrity today.
As past president of the Keller Rotary Club where I have been an active member
for over 15 years, I believe strongly in the Rotary 4 Way Test.
Of the things we say or do:
- Is it the truth?
- Is it fair to all concerned?
- Will it build good will and better friendships?
- Will it be beneficial to all concerned?
Every week we close our Rotary meeting reciting this Four Way Test as a
verbal reminder of the values that are important to us.
I am committed to Integrity!
Commitment:
My wife Karen and I have called Keller "home" since 1990. When we were blessed
with our second daughter in 1992, we started looking for a larger house. We
searched the Metroplex (again) and then moved two streets from where we were
already living.
With our daughters, we have been involved in KISD from Kindergarten through
High School, including 4 newly built schools. We have been members of the
First United Methodist Church of Keller for over 15 years.
"I am not running for City Council as a political hobby or a stepping stone to
higher office."
I am committed to all the citizens of Keller those who vote for me ... those
who don't vote for me ... and those who don't vote at all.
My commitment is to Keller - the community we call home.
I am committed to Keller!
